This is one of our unique collaboration workshops (#chocollaborations), where we invite a local producer to share their wonderful products and ingredients with us. The idea is to enjoy creativity and experimentation in a professional chocolate kitchen, as you get to try and taste different recipes and combinations.

In this event, we welcome Jordan Rutherford from Ad Gefrin Distillery in Wooler, Northumberland, in what promises to be a very exciting evening of creativity with chocolate and whisky.

Ad Gefrin sits at the gateway to the Cheviot Hills, and they draw upon the purest Cheviot water from their own borehole – and some of the region’s finest malting barley cultivated in local fields to create a whisky that is defined by the beauty of its location. More than that, they have found a way to bring community and celebration, by helping to rediscover the heritage of Anglo Saxon Northumbria.

Their aims set this out clearly: " Our mission is simple yet profound: to craft spirits of exceptional character, rooted in tradition, shaped by innovation, and inseparable from the land and people of Northumberland."

We will hear more from Jordan about how the distillery was founded, and how the whisky is made. Our tastings for the evening will focus on the two blends of whisky : The Tacnbora, and Flyte, The Cream Whiskey Liqueur.

As ever in these chocolate workshops, Jane will then lead you through a chocolate workshop which incorporates the guest product. In this session, you will be able to use the whisky to create 3 batches of ganache truffles. Using the techniques demonstrated as a starting point, Jane encourages you to taste and test the ingredients to see where your creativity will lead you.

This promises to be an exciting and delicious evening of tasting and creating in Davenport's 'masterchef' style kitchen, and you will be able to take your creations home with you - perhaps some handmade Christmas gifts, surprising a loved one with your Chocolate-making skills!
