What safety cover will there be on the day?

We have a brilliant team of volunteer safety crew on RIBs, kayaks and power boats, we also have marshals on the beach should you exit the race before the finish line. More details will be provided in your entry pack.

Why do I need to bring a swim buddy?

Both races are a point-to- point swim, ending at a different location to the starting point. Your swim buddy will be responsible for your belongings on the day and bringing them to the finish line.

There is a seasonal dog ban in place on some stretches of the beach so we do not recommend bringing a dog.

I usually swim in lakes, can I take part?

We strongly recommend getting some sea swimming experience to familiarise yourself with swimming through breaking waves/currents.

There are public car parks at both Sandsend and Whitby, Whitby Regatta can get very busy so please allow plenty of time to park. More info on parking and public transport will be available in the entry pack.
