Description

The Buckinghamshire Community Safety Partnership in association with Aylesbury Women’s Aid has organised a White Ribbon (domestic abuse) half day conference on Monday 20th November 2017 between 9.30 and 1pm to be held at Green Park in Aston Clinton.

We are delighted to have a really exciting range of key note speakers including;

Dierdre Brennan- Femicide Census Research Officer – from Women’s Aid National Organisation- and author of "Redefining an isolated incident".

As we only have a limited amount of space so we would request that you could notify us whether you would be interested in attending this event. Please fill out the Eventbrite form as soon as possible to reserve your place.

A full programme of the event will be forwarded at the end of October 2017.

Information:

In 1999, The United Nations officially recognised the 25th November as International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Each year, this date marks 16 days of activism against gender based violence, ending on Human Rights Day on the 10th December.

The White Ribbon Campaign runs during this time. Men and boys are encouraged to wear a white ribbon to demonstrate their opposition to men’s violence against women. Wearing a white ribbon is seen as a personal pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women. www.whiteribboncampaign.co.uk
