Who defines knowledge? Listening to marginalised and vulnerable voices
At this workshop we will address a key issue facing researchers and practitioners working with marginalised and oppressed groups.
Why are the experiences, opinions and perspectives of marginalised individuals or groups often dismissed or silenced? Do “experts” know better? And what can we do to prevent “epistemic injustice”?
This session will include presentations by Dr Susie Hully (Cambridge) & Dr Tara Young (Kent), Dr James Alexander (SSS), and Dr Julius Elster (SSP), and will be chaired by Prof Svetlana Stephenson (SSS).
The seminar will be delivered online via BlackBoard Collaborate. Please register to attend. Instructions on how to join will be sent to you in your Eventbrite confirmation email upon registration.
