Former Ivy League Admission Officer, Ben Schwartz, will tell you all about what admission officers of top universities are looking for.

About this Event

Ever had a burning question you wish you could ask an Admissions Officer directly? Well now, here's your chance!

Crimson Education presents Ben Schwartz - Dartmouth College's Former Admissions Officer and seasoned university expert.

At this event, Ben will be answering questions such as:

  • How important are my GCSEs and A-level results when it comes time to apply?
  • What exactly are Admission Officers of top U.S. universities looking for in an application from a UK student?
  • What does a typical applicant's profile look like?
  • What specific mistakes hold back an application from standing out?
  • What are some stereotypical essay topics to avoid?

Ben will focus on how admissions officers in the U.S. actually read applications from international students. Get honest answers and behind-the-scenes information about the inner workings of admissions at an Ivy League university and other top tier US universities from this event!

Speaker Profile

Ben Schwartz | Former Admissions Officer | Dartmouth University

Ben graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Education Policy, including coursework at the London School of Economics. Following Ben’s second international fellowship where he worked with urban migrant families in West Africa, he returned to Dartmouth to serve as an Assistant Director of Admissions handling recruitment and applications from the US, sub-Saharan Africa, and beyond. He has since worked with students from nearly 30 countries across 5 continents to help them develop their leadership, intellectual curiosity, design-thinking and a range of in-demand skills to help propel them to succeed in top universities. Ben holds masters degrees from Harvard and MIT—an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government and an MBA from Sloan School of Management. When not spending time with his family in West Africa, Ben serves global higher education clients as a management consultant with EY-Parthenon’s higher education team.

We will also be providing an opportunity for everyone to have their questions answered and set up individual conversations with an academic advisor, to find out how you can give yourself the best chance of gaining admission to the world’s best UK universities. Check out our results here.
