About our guest speaker: Steve Barker
"As a business leader I have had an amazing journey. Fantastic highs and my fair share of failures have all contributed to a wealth and depth of knowledge and experience. Now I am in the business of giving back .
There is an old proverb - If you want to be successful put your effort into controlling the sail, not the wind. The real challenge for today’s business leaders is to find the time to master and control the sail when too many things seem to be conspiring to blow you off course and on to the rocks! For more than twenty years I have been working side by side with fellow leaders and helping them to take control, build a successful business AND create time to live their life.
Over the years I have realised that at the very heart of this has to be the sheer determination to learn, develop, take risks and grow. However today’s business leaders have little or no diary space for formal training and the classroom so I believe real time “lean learning’ that builds improvement and excellence into our daily challenges is the only way forward."
