Whole class reading at KS2
Tue 8 November 2016, 09:00 – 15:00 GMT
Target audience: KS2 teachers, English/literacy subject leaders
Course leader: Alison Bailey, Pathfinder consultant trainer
Increasingly, with a national curriculum focused on ‘mastery’ (as many children as possible achieving at least age-related expectations), schools are exploring the potential of whole-class teaching of reading at KS2 either instead of, or alongside, a guided / group teaching model. This day will focus on the practicalities of organising and teaching reading like this, including recommended texts, planning for differentiation and catch-up for decoding, and case-studies from schools that have been trialling this approach.
This course includes lunch and refreshments.
There is plenty of parking at the school.
Please check the Pathfinder Website for all booking conditions including payment / refunds / cancellations.
