Join us for a fun packed afternoon of Halloween fun for all the family at Who's Afraid of the Park? Spooky Stroll on Sunday 29 October - a UV-tastic trail through Chantry Park, Ipswich!

The route is approx. 3km and fun for all the family so prepare to encounter:

  • A UV Paint drip pod

  • UV Gunge Shooters

  • UV Foam Cannon

  • A UV Bubble pod

The event is suitable for any age but all children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Don’t forget to dress in your spookiest costume as there will be a prize for the winner.

Before registering please take a few minutes to read our terms and conditions.

If booking for more than one person please ensure that you fill in each participants full information to ensure that their registration is valid. This includes; full name, address, contact telephone number, gender, date of birth, age, accompanying adult/ guardian (if applicable), emergency contact details and whether or not they want to use the 'Spooky Offer'.

How far is the route?

The route is approximately 3km

Where will the route take us?

Around Chantry Park. You will not have to go onto the road or leave the park.

Do I need to specify which wave I want to go in?

Yes. When you register, you will be asked which wave you want to set off with.

Purple wave 15:45 start

Green wave 16:00 start

Orange wave 16:15 start

Please arrive 45 minutes before your start time to register and collect your wristband and goody bag.

How much does it cost to take part?

  • Early Bird registration fees: Under 2’s free, Children aged 3-14 £8, aged 15 and over £15 (Early Bird ticket prices are available until midnight on the 11th of September 2017)

  • Standard registration fees: Under 2’s free, Children aged 3-14 £12, aged 15 and over £20

  • On the day registration fees: Under 2’s free, Children aged 3-14 £17, aged 15 and over £25

Will there be parking?

There will be parking for up to 300 vehicles on a first come first served basis at Chantry Park, this car park can be accessed via the entrance on Hyntle Close. Please note that adverse weather conditions may effect the amount of spaces available.

Where do I come on the day?

We advise that you arrive 45 minutes before your wave sets off to give you plenty of time to register and warm up.

Registration and the start/finish line are located in the centre of the park, by the cricket pavilion and tennis courts area. Entry to the park is via the main gates on Hadleigh Road, London Road, and Hyntle Close.

Are there any lockers/storage facilities to leave things at the start?

There will not be any lockers or storage facilities on site please keep your belongings with you or leave them at home.

Will there be toilets?

Toilet facilities are available at the park.

Will it be safe?

St Elizabeth Hospice is working in conjunction with Extreme Adventure Ltd and Ipswich Borough Council to ensure all aspects of the event are made safe. The UV elements do not contain any chemicals; the colorants are food colourings and are biodegradable. The hospice hires Woodbridge Medical Services who take care of the first aid provisions during the event.

Stage Security will be providing SIA trained security staff at the event, please be aware that they have the right to search bags, cars and perform random searches in order to keep participants, staff and volunteers safe.

Participants aged 14 years and under must take part alongside a paying adult and be accompanied throughout the event. School and youth groups who take part must have adequate supervision. When walking the route all children must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for their safety.

Our trained halloween volunteers will be on hand accross the route so be prepared for any tricks they may play!

Please wear sensible footwear.

On no account is alcohol to be brought into the event site or consumed during the event. St Elizabeth Hospice reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone under the influence of alcohol.

Is the route wheelchair and buggy friendly?

Yes it is. Those who are in wheelchairs or have buggies are welcome to take part. However due to the nature of the event, the location and some uneven terrain at Chantry Park in Ipswich, we would advise to contact the hospice prior to booking for more details.

What do I need to wear?

Due to the ingredients used for the dyes in the UV stations these may stain clothing. It is the participant’s responsibility to come suitably dressed for the event. The event organisers take no responsibility for colour stains on any shoes or clothing. Refer to the terms and conditions.

Will there be any refreshments?

Refreshments will be available to buy

Can I bring pets?

No animals are allowed to take part or accompany participants along the route. If bringing a dog keep it on a lead and away from the Who’s Afraid of the Park? Course.

How old do I need to be?

Anyone of any age can take part in the Spooky Stroll event (from 3pm). Anyone aged 14 and under must include the name and authorisation of the parent/guardian who will be accompanying them on their registration form.

Why do I have to register again at the end of the event?

Registering at the end ensures that everyone is accounted for. This way we will know if anybody is lost or missing. If you leave the walk early you must advise a member of the marshal team, who will be wearing high visibility jackets, or a member of staff on the registration desk.

Spooky Offer

The ticket price refund is available to anyone who raises £100 or more in sponsorship and will reflect the price paid upon booking. The refund will be issued to the participant who has raised £100 or more and once funds have reached St Elizabeth Hospice either by any giving sites, cash or cheque. Participants can contact the fundraising team on 01473 723600 between the 11th - 15th of December 2017 to arrange the refund.

Can I Gift Aid my donation?

You can ask each person that sponsors you to Gift Aid their donation by ticking the Gift Aid box on your sponsor form, if they are a UK taxpayer or pay Capital Gains Tax. For every £1 they donate, we receive an extra 25p.

What else can I do to raise money?

Many employers will match fund the amounts their employees fundraise. Why not speak with your employer and ask them if they will do this. It is quick and simple and won’t cost you a thing. Usually all they require is a letter from us confirming what you have raised and we will happily provide you with this.

How do I hand in my sponsor money?

Please send cheques to: Fundraising, St Elizabeth Hospice, 565 Foxhall Road, Ipswich, IP3 8LX. Alternatively, you can bring the money to the Ipswich hospice.

If you have set up a St Elizabeth Hospice Giving page, we automatically receive all donations made through the website, so you don't need to do anything!

Please do not bring sponsor money to the event. Deadline for sponsorship is the 30/11/17.

Is there any other way I can support the event/hospice?
