About this event

An in-person taster session for qualified and trainee helping professionals to explore race, culture, heritage and identity within the context of their work and training. Suitable for qualified and trainee therapists, coaches, social workers, doctors, nurses, tutors, teachers, mentors, advisors and representatives, support workers and others working in professional helping services.

This will be a small group setting. Sessions will be experiential and discursive. Facilitated by me, Mary Pascall, psychotherapeutic counsellor, group facilitator and anti-racist advocate, counselling tutor and mentor.

Join me and other helping professionals, to increase your awareness of the impact of our responses to race and culture. Together, we'll consider this within the context of your professional practice, identify any barriers and set targets for change.

Taster session 7.30 pm - 9 pm Monday 12th May 2025.

Ticket fee: £40.00 (includes refreshments, resources and materials).

The group will meet in a comfortable, period-style room in central Norwich, Norfolk, UK. Seating for a maximum of 8 participants, You may wish to bring your own mark-making materials, plus a blanket/and or a cushion for additional comfort.

Mary Pascall is a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, group

facilitator, trainer and mentor in private practice, based in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. Mary also

works as a person-centred counselling tutor.

Within her practice, Mary offers one-to-one counselling for adults, mentoring for counselling

trainees and, as a group facilitator, a tailored programme of online and in-person workshops

focusing on the significance of race, culture and heritage in therapy and other helping settings.

Mary’s approach is relational, racial justice allied and social justice allied. Her workshops are

interactive and experiential, suitable for counselling practitioners, counselling training

organisations and other helping professionals.
