Event description

Description

Israel cannot be both a Jewish state and a democracy. Ofra Yeshua-Lyth makes the case (from a Jewish Israeli standpoint) for a single state in Israel/Palestine that does not discriminate between religions or ‘races’.

Ofra Yeshua-Lyth was raised as a Zionist and served in the Israeli army, where she worked in public relations. She subsequently wrote for Ma’ariv, Israel’s second-largest newspaper, as a foreign correspondent in Germany and the United States.

One of her grandmothers was born in Yemen, the other in Odessa. Both of her parents were born in Palestine.

Her latest book, Politically Incorrect: Why a Jewish State is a Bad Idea (2016), was praised by Tribune as ‘intelligent, shocking, convincing and gripping’.
