Event description

Description

Twilight Training session "Why Attachment Matters in Social Media".

6.00pm start.

This session will look at the impact social media has on individuals, communities and organisations, the latest trends in social media and how social media can become an addiction. We will then explore how social media can be used sensibly and the benefits of having an online footprint despite the negatives that come with the world of social media.

About our Presenter:
My name is Anum Mahmood, known as Annie. I graduated in 2014 with a degree in Media and Communications. After a short spate of freelance work as a journalist I went on to work for a PR agency where I worked for various public figures. In 2016 I started working for Police Scotland as a communications officer. My interest in social media, in particular, allowed me to work in various business areas looking at how social media can be used to reduce and solve crime. I have worked on various areas such as child sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

I also continue to do freelance work delivering workshops to charities and organisations on all things social. From creating social strategies to how social media can impact their organisation and staff. I also carry out successful two-part workshops for teens and their parents/guardians on how social media can impact their lives and how to stay safe online.

Students who pay the £15 ticket will given a years complimentary membership (on completion of documentation and proof of studies) at the event.
