The University of Hertfordshire Philosophy Department, in association with New College of the Humanities and Bloomsbury Philosophy are delighted to invite you to a public debate on 'WHY JOURNALISM MATTERS'​. This event is sponsored by the Royal Institute of Philosophy ​.

Dr Daniele Moyal-Sharrock​ will convene the event.

Professor Anthony Grayling, Professor of Philosophy and Master of New College of the Humanities will give a brief opening address.

Julian Baggini, Malcolm Dean, Dame Liz Fogan, John Lloyd, Dr Sharon Maxwell Magnus and Martin Woollacot will each voice their views on whether and how journalism matters. There will then be 30 minutes of discussion between panelists, and the final 30 minutes will be open to reactions from the floor.

Drinks from 6pm, event starts at 6.30pm
