Event description
Join us as we discuss the innovation and disruption challenge: practical steps to value creation for boards.

About this event

How companies adapt to innovation and disruption is one of the most studied management issues of the era. What is less studied – and less well understood – is how boards deal with the innovation and disruption challenge. Research indicates that many boards are not equipped for this task, often lacking a deep understanding of their firm’s strategy, industry or how they create value.

In this webinar we will look at some ways boards have been able to meet the challenge of board renewal and effectiveness. We will consider:

  • Key competencies for boards during disruptive times
  • How boards can add strategic insights into the external environment
  • How boards can engage better with management in strategy formulation
  • How boards can play their full strategic role of ensuring resource and asset allocations create “strategy as intent”.

We will also present some recent INSEAD/IDN research on board competence and board renewal and examine practical steps boards can take to support long-term value creation in a context of fast-changing markets, disrupted value chains and novel ways of working.

The event will be moderated by Liselotte Engstam (IDP-C’15Oct) Board Member at the INSEAD Directors’ Network .

All attendees will have a chance to contribute to a pre-event survey, ask questions live and access a resource pack afterwards.
