Event description

Description

At a time when your results are slipping because of government involvement in the curriculum, written exams and a cohort of SEND and EAL pupils, why teach GCSE Drama? Your pupils will be with you until they are eighteen, there is a movement out there to end GCSEs altogether and you are struggling to maintain your results with an English-based Drama written exam on set texts.

It’s time to think about moving to Btec where you are back in control of your curriculum: no exams, no set texts, three units based on your strengths with 100% coursework.

About Catherine Connor

I have been a drama teacher in secondary schools around London since 1997. I am now leading the Drama PGCE course at UEL. I am actively involved in reducing teacher’s workload and mental health and against government involvement in the National Curriculum
