Description

Why the outlook for Economics may not be quite so dismal after all - an inaugural lecture by Professor Caroline Elliot

Deputy Dean of Aston Business School

Economics has long been known as the ‘dismal science’. Economists, including academic economists, were particularly criticised in light of the financial crisis 2007 onwards. Further, how Economics is taught across universities has been very publically challenged. This talk will suggest why there are grounds for optimism, both in terms of research being conducted and how Economics is taught in higher education.
