On 8 March 2017 Phillip Hammond staged his first full budget since being appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer, having delivered his first Autumn Statement in November 2016 when he declared that the Government is no longer seeking a budget surplus in 2019-20 but is committed to returning public finances to balance "as soon as practicable". This will be the last budget to take place in the Spring, following the Government’s decision to change to an Autumn Budget and Spring Statement and is also likely to be the last budget before the UK commences formal Brexit negotiations.
Join WiBA for a budget briefing with a difference! Enjoy a tasty brunch and a glass of Bellini, Bucks Fizz, or non-alcoholic equivalent while our speakers take you through the key budget announcements affecting you.
The session will be presented by two expert business advisors from leading accountancy firm BDO LLP, and will include the opportunity to ask questions about how the 2017 budget will impact you, your family and your business and what steps you should be taking to maximise the benefits and minimise the burden.
Joanna McDowell is a Corporate Tax Director at BDO LLP and will provide an update on how the budget will impact you from a corporate tax perspective. Juliette Smith is a Senior Manager in the Private Client Team and will cover the personal tax angle.
