Welcome to the original Wigan Computing Leaders' Training, which has been running for many years for experienced and new-to-computing leaders. It's a place for you to meet with other like-minded colleagues who lead computing, some are teachers, some are teaching assistants, and one thing they all have in common is a passion for and desire to improve computing in their school.

Our meetings are unique: colleagues attend time and time again! Our training provides you with professional development to upskill you and keep your thinking and practice about computing current. It offers a chance to see new technology in action, evaluate new products, plan ahead and there is lots of time to talk to other colleagues. We always have a slot about e-safety too - our course leader Lesley is passionate about online safety and has many years of experience supporting schools with this. She is also a CEOP Ambassador and was responsible for the popular and highly used Open University's VITAL E-Safety Portal and sat on the Wigan Safeguarding board when she worked in Wigan, so she really knows her stuff!
If you come to our session you will receive a very warm welcome from colleagues, hear about lots of new computing developments and encouraged to take ownership of the focus of the group. Unlike some courses you might have attended, we won't tell you what to do! Rather we will suggest new ideas, offer support and let you make the final decisions about what is best for your school.
