Meeting The Needs Of Advanced Bilingual Learners

Time : Wednesday 28th June 2017, 4 - 5.30pm
Please note: This training course is for Wigan school and nursery staff working across the Borough.

This training session has been organised by Wigan EMAS and may be of interest to staff working with Advanced Bilingual Learners within Wigan schools who are looking for guidance on how best to support them.
The aims of this session are for you to:
- Understand what is meant by the term 'Advanced Bilingual Learner'
- Identify the needs of Advanced Bilingual Learners, and areas for explicit teaching, as they move towards Fluency (DfE Proficiency in English Scale Code E)
- Explore teaching strategies for developing skills and knowledge to ensure competency in these areas.
