Event Details

UCL translation students and staff are warmly invited to come and translate Wikipedia articles on women's health. Training will be provided so no prior experience or special technical skills are necessary. Refreshments also provided.

The programme:

2.00: introduction to the session.

2:15: brief training and translation of Wikipedia articles.

4:15: Tea and biscuits.

4:30: Presentation: "Why translating Wikipedia matters", followed by discussion.

5:00: Back to translating / editing.

6:45: Round-up, when we show off our creations.

If you can get the basics under your belt before the formal session begins then you'll be able to put all your time into your translation. To hit the ground running with this Translatathon, take a look at this Wikipedia Training for Students (should take around one hour) at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Training/For_students

If you don't have time to do the training in advance, don't worry - whatever level of experience, we will be able to help you to get started on your wiki journey.
