Description

Our first Wikithon in the Women's Engineering Society's Centenary Year!

Our WES Centenary Trail is all about putting women from history onto Wikipedia, so their achievements aren't overlooked or forgotten. We are partnering with the wonderful Heritage Open Days (HODS) to run a Wikithon at the Wellcome Trust, delivered by their inspiring Wikimedian, Dr. Alice White. Take a look at @WESCentenary on Twitter or @wes_centenary on Instagram to get inspired by the brilliant women engineers who don’t have a Wikipedia page … yet! Or perhaps be inspired to add one of the Extraordinary Women who featured in HODS 2018 programme - follow @heritageopenday hashtags #XWomen and #PutHerForward for some great suggestions.

Join us to change some wiki red links blue on 17th January 4-8pm (you can join in at any point during that time). There will be cake - in the best Heritage Open Days fashion!

Beginners are very welcome, and we will help you to learn how to become a wiki editor. If you already have some wiki editing experience, we can help you improve your skills and learn a few new tricks.

WARNING! Editing Wikipedia can become addictive... and it's FREE!

Find out more about Heritage Open Days at www.heritageopendays.org.uk or @heritageopenday on Twitter or @heritageopendays on Instagram

The WES Centenary Trail is funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund www.wes.org.uk/wes-centenary.
