Event description

Description

Come along to Weston Mill Cemetery, make your own paper poppy, plant it near one of the 398 WWI war graves at the site and help us make our own beautiful sea of poppies. We will have other fun activities for you to do as well.

This event is being held in connection with 'Poppies: WAVE' which will be displayed on the war memorial on the Hoe from 23 August to 19 November. 'Poppies: WAVE' is part of the original 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' art installation that was displayed at the Tower of London in 2014-15. Each poppy was made to honour the British and Colonial forces of the First World War.
