Description

Date:

Thursday 30th May

10am - 3pm

Location:

Seeley Copse, Goodwood Estate, Chichester, West Sussex, P018

Who this is for:

A drop off structured natural art workshop for children aged between 5-12 years.

The fun to be had....?

The perfect day for children who love art, crafts, creating and enjoying spending time outdoors. Who enjoy being part of a structured day. (Not into art or don't like structure? then why not come along to one of our Minecraft or Survival craft sessions, which are more child-led).

You will spend the day creating sketchbooks full of ideas and making art and crafts to take home. Learn to use the natural resources found in the woods to make own creations. Make charcoal over the fire and turn into a pencil to use for sketching, make a rain maker that you can decorate to make your own and learn some viking knitting to make keyrings or friendship bracelets. Spend some time jotting down your inspirations, artworks and designs into your sketchbooks and by the end of the day it will be a reflection of your personality and creativity, full of lots of new ideas and ways of working, becoming something that you can continue using and adding to when you get home. If you have been to one of our previous wild art days, then why not bring your old sketchbook with you to use to continue your artistic journey.

With some forest school activities included in the day, you will learn some fire lighting techniques, whittling and using the campfire to create the charcoal we will be using. We will also be toasting marshmallows to enjoy around the campfire too.

Please contact us with any questions about the morning at woodlandwondersforestschool@gmail.com

FAQ's

Who are running the sessions and what are your ratio's?

We run our sessions to a high adult to child ratio, aiming for 1:5. I am a forest school level 3 trained leader who also has a degree in art, with lots of experience in art and crafts. All forest school leaders hold outdoor first aid certificates. These sessions are run with the help of regular volunteers ensuring your child has enough time to learn the skills needed for each activity available and at a pace that is suited to their individual needs. All our volunteers and forest school leaders hold current and relevant DBS certificates. These can be produced on request.
