A meeting point for everyone who is Wild Beach Trained and wants to meet each other, find out about activities and sessions that have worked well, re-visit the beach environment, underseas wildlife to inspire future practise and enjoy some time in wonderful blue space.

Meeting point: Felpham Beach in front of Beach Huts, PO22 7EE

What’s included: Sharing experiences and celebrating success, Seaweed soup tasting, Creative activities with natural materials, Rockpooling and identification session to finish

What to bring: (clothing, food, equipment) Cup and own choice of bevarage for Kelly Kettle drink, bowl and spoon for wild food tasting. Clothing appropriate to the weather – waterproof/windproof layers in wet/windy weather, suncream, sun hat for sunny conditions, water, beach shoes or suitable shoes for rockpooling/ change of shoes.

Parking and charges: there is some free parking on village streets nearby and a car park with a charge.

Toilet and catering facilities: (If there are no toilets available at the site, please suggest the nearest public toilet)

Public Transport: Bus: no. 63 stops at Felpham road (10 minutes walk away)

Train: Bognor station connects to no 63 bus.

Accessibility: Shingle beach so not fully accessible but we can adapt activities to be near to the promenade if needed for those who are unable to do rockpooling or traverse the stones on the beach itself. Please let us know.

The Wilder Learning Team at Sussex Wildlife Trust have a wealth of experience training adults in Forest School practices for over 15 years. Keeping connected with our fellow practitioners and helping to establish new connections within communities is very important and beneficial to all.

We aim to go ahead in most weather conditions; however, activities will not go ahead in severe weather such as high winds, extreme cold and/or persistent heavy rain, and where indoor alternatives cannot be arranged. You will receive an email and/or a phone call the day before the event to be informed of cancellation. If you are not contacted, the event will be going ahead as planned.
