Welcome to the Natural Ink Workshop!

Come join us at The Make Space for a hands-on experience in creating artist grade inks from wild plant materials. In this workshop, you will be shown which plants to forage (weather permitting) in the beautiful surrounding area of the Tithe Barn. You will be taught how to extract their colour and how to use modifiers and binders. Let your creativity flow as you experiment with different colours. No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. (And clothes you don't mind getting inky!). All materials will be provided. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to explore the art of natural ink making with like-minded individuals. See you there.

Natural Ink Workshop

Tom and Helen

We will start the day showing you which wild plants to forage, to cook and extract colour from. In the event of bad weather there will be a supply of pre-foraged materials to show you. There will be lots of examples of our work, inks, paints, papers for you to look through. Then we will spend some time creating modifiers and binders to make artist grade inks which you will then have time to experiment with. By the end of the workshop you will have your own bottles of ink and modifier to take away with you. You will also be sent a digital instruction manual with a project to work on at home. You will gain all of the knowledge to become an ink maker!
