What can we discover when we look closer, further, slower? A drawing workshop all about being inquisitive with our sense of sight, taking a slow approach to the landscape and connecting with nature through creativity.
Date 7th September
Time 10.30 - 12.30
Attendance Price £22 (includes sketchbook and sketching pencil)
We will meet at the main Scout Scar carpark (///tunes.narrow.deals). In case of poor weather (more than light rain and winds), the workshop will be postponed and refunds will be available as an alternative.
Join artist, Jessica Emsley, in this outdoor art workshop focusing on deeper observation, and how we might engage with nature through creativity.
Together, we will explore the area of Scout Scar above Kendal as we look closer at this familiar landscape. Participants will be led through a series of experimental drawing exercises, casting vision out into the distance before bringing the focus back to those things nearby, and ultimately ourselves in the landscape.
We will take a slow and relaxed approach to the morning with no pressure to make anything in particular, instead enjoying the experience of being outside and connecting with the landscape.
What to bring:
Basic drawing materials will be provided (a small sketchbook and a sketching pencil), however you are encouraged to bring any extra materials you wish. Dry materials will tend to work better such as, pencils, pastels and charcoal.
