Embark upon a guided family adventure of gnarly Naddle Forest with RSPB Haweswater, in search of red squirrels, bugs, wildflowers and birds!

About this Event

Join RSPB Haweswater for an exclusive, guided woodland adventure in gnarly Naddle Forest!

On this fun packed experience, children (and adults!) can hunt for bugs, use binoculars to spot red squirrels and birds, play games, track animals, foray for wildflowers, create wild art and lots more, all under the friendly, expert naturalist guidance of your RSPB Guide.

Naddle Forest is home to a wonderful diversity of wild animals and plants, from Roe Deer, Woodpeckers, Foxes, Butterflies, Dragonflies and more, and is the perfect place for families to enjoy a relaxed, guided exploration of this beautiful, secluded part of the Lake District.

Hot/ cold drinks and biscuits will be provided. Binoculars will be available for use too.

Adults: £10 (RSPB members £8)

Children: £5 (Most suitable for ages up to 12 )

Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

FAQ's

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Unfortunately public transport to Naddle Farm is unavailable.There is parking available at Naddle Farm for those driving. Simply drive up the Naddle Farm lane until you reach the farmhouse (the RSPB Haweswater offices), where you will be welcomed by your RSPB Guide.

Who is this event suited to?

This event has been tailored for families with young children who would like to explore the wildlife of Haweswater's woodland together. It is best suited for families with children aged up to 12 years old, however all members of the family will enjoy discovering our wild corner of the Lake District in this event.

Are toilets available on site?

Yes, there is a toilet that can be used at Naddle Farm. There will be no toilets available during the walk, however you will not be far from the farm.

Is the walk strenuous?

This walk is not strenuous, however there may be a short, slight incline during one section. Please be aware that the walk is not on a footpath and is therefore unsuitable for wheelchairs users and pushchairs. Please contact us if you have any questions about this.

Are dogs allowed?

Sorry, dogs are not allowed on this event.
