Description

Discover the magic of fermentation!
Fermentation has been used in every culture through history as a way of preserving and transforming food. Through the yeasts naturally present on food and in the air we can transform food, increasing the nutritional value, changing flavour and producing healthy probiotic bacteria to help our digestion.

In this workshop we will look at fermenting vegetables to make sauerkraut, kimchi, salsas and other dishes. We will go out and forage for wild foods and medicines to add to our ferments. There will be plenty of time to discuss fermented drinks, sourdough baking and other fermenting delights!

At the end of the morning you will have your own jars of fermenting vegetables to take home. Please bring a glass jar or two.
