Description

Join us on a foraging adventure as we walk around Hackney to discover the wild, edible delicacies to be found growing on your doorstep. During the session we will learn how to safely identify a wide range of plants and try up to 30 pre-made tasters from syrup infusions to chutney and jams. James Wood is an artist and wild food forager, author of books 'The Foragers' Cookbook' and 'The Foraged Book Project' and featured on BBC's Countryfile. With his company Totally Wild UK, James has led workshops and participatory events for the last 5 years, aiming to give people the confidence to go out and pick wild edibles in the future.

Departure point is outside the Strikers cafe, at Hackney Marshes Centre, Homerton, E9 5PF. The centre can be reached on the 276 bus from Hackney Wick towards Stoke Newington and get off at Poplar Close. Then walk turning right onto Homerton Road, turning left into the Hackney Marshes Centre. Drinks can be purchased at the cafe, which is cash only.
