Wild Food Foraging Walk - Brighton (afternoon)
Event Information
About this Event
Do you want to learn about foraging? Learn how to identify edible plants to use in your kitchen at home (and poisonous plants to avoid), increase your knowledge of your local landscape and add more variety and nutrition to your diet? If so then join wild food guide and cook Mike Cutting on this guided walk in Brighton's Wild Park on the edge of the South Downs. On this 2+ hour walk we will examine many species of wild plants and get ideas on how to safely identify and use them, based on Mike's extensive experience in the field and in the kitchen.
As part of the experience you will have the chance to try a selection of individually prepared wild treats containing a variety of fresh and preserved wild foods including home made bread, pickles, ferments and more besides. Food is primarily vegetarian, but all dietary needs can be catered for.
We will meet by the cafe in WildPark for a 2.30 pm start.
This event is strictly limited to 5 spaces to allow us to socially distance in a relaxed way without adversely affecting other countryside users (more tickets may be added by the time of the event). Private bookings are also available. Please email forage.brighton@gmail.com or message through eventbrite or social media for further details.
