The Borders Forest Trust and Connecting Threads are delighted to present an intimate acoustic performance by harpist, composer and singer Esther Swift.
The performance will take place under cover at Corehead, a site being developed by Borders Forest Trust to restore native woodland and wetland in this corner of the Southern Uplands.Esther Swift explores ritual, connection, isolation, and the natural world in her performance with pedal harp and voice.
She tours internationally with her own music as both a soloist and with her band and large ensembles.
For those interested in exploring singing with others, Esther is offering a relaxed voice workshop prior to her performance. You can book to attend the workshop and performance, or just the performance.
The proceeds from ticket sales will go towards supporting the work of Borders Forest Trust.
Timings – Workshop & Performance
For those attending the workshop, please travel by car, sharing where possible, and arrive at 11:45am.
The workshop will begin at 12-noon and last for an hour. There will be a lunch break at 1-2pm – please bring your own packed lunch.
For those attending the performance, meet the mini-bus shuttle in Moffat Town Centre at 1:40pm.
Scones & hot drinks will be served for all at 2pm.
The performance will begin at 2.30pm and will last an hour and a half with a 15-minute break part way through.
The performance will finish at 4pm.
The minibus shuttle will depart the site at 4.30pm and will arrive back in Moffat at 4.45pm
Clothing and footwear
The workshop will start indoors, and weather permitting will move outdoors.
The performance will held be indoors.
All guests: please bring weather appropriate clothing including walking boots or wellies, as the access path between the car park and the site can be very wet and muddy.
Refreshments
A drink and snack (vegan and gluten free) will be provided before the performance at 2-2:30pm and drinking water will also be available. Please feel free to bring additional refreshments as required.
Accessibility
The venue is a five-minute walk over rough grass from the car park and the path is not suitable for wheelchairs.
There are two steps to reach the entrance to the cabin where the performance will be held.
There is a compost toilet on site which will be available for use.
Please note that under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Getting to the event
The event is located at the Borders Forest Trust site at Corehead, 4 miles out of Moffat. It is possible to travel to the site by car, bike or on foot. Workshop participants are asked to make their on way to the cabin. A minibus shuttle to the site will be provided for guests attending the performance.

A minibus will run between Moffat town centre and the venue at Corehead. The cost of this is included in your ticket price. There is free parking in Moffat town centre and the town is also served by the Stagecoach X74 bus from Glasgow to Dumfries. Please contact rhiana@sup.org.uk if you are unable to make use of the minibus.
The minibus will leave the ram statue in Moffat town centre at 1.45pm.
Please arrive at the minibus ready to go no later than 1.40pm to ensure a prompt departure.
