Event description
Wild Ivy provide mindfulness activities that nurture from the inside out, leading you thought a fun day of discovery with your shoes off!

About this event

Our nature bathing retreat days have been created for people who are wanting to honour and notice the seasons and connect and release creative energy. Caroline & Rosie are inspired by the concept of a women’s circles where people come to disconnect from their busy external world, from social networks, and completely immerse themselves amongst a healing, un-judgemental environment.

Together Rosie & Caroline work in gentle synergy to provide mindfulness activities that nurture from the inside out, educate and inform us about nature for a fun day of discovery with our shoes off.

November Half Day Retreat – Earth’s Wisdom

Our Earth’s Wisdom Retreat will focus on how we can nurture our inner and outer environments, what we eat can often afffect our moods and reflect how we feel. Reach out in our Wild Ivy Cottage Garden and begin to grasp the healing wisdom of nature in your fingertips!

In Earth’s Wisdom, Caroline will be sharing her knowledge about healing mushrooms, foraged natural seasonal leaves, berries, herbs, vegetables, fruits seeds and nuts. We will learn how eating certain simple foods we have the potential to connect our bodies to the earth so we function with more ease.

We will be cooking from scratch, taking our time, mindfully creating breakfasts, energising drinks, sustaining fresh broths, soups and life giving bread and hedgerow jam and acknowledging it’s all in the journey. Not always the fastest route to an outcome. Making simple nourishment the old fashioned way.

Our beautiful mindfulness meditation with Rosie will be celebrating the mother tree and how trees and nature look out for each other and communicate with older wiser family members. Do we value our experienced teachers of life or value our younger more aesthetically beautiful children. Both are invaluable to each other. As trees will tell you.

Where we are

Set in a quintessential English village and grounds of the 14th St Mary’s Church in Puttenham. Wild Ivy Retreats is surrounded by peace and quiet. The stillness of nature soothes and takes us away from our everyday demands. However, amazingly we not too far from the urban sprawl and are just a 50-minute train ride from London, Euston.

The Day

9:30am Arrive and vegan refreshments

10am We begin our retreat with a welcome ceremony & journey meditation led by Rosie in our cosy tipee in the garden of Wild Ivy Retreats, with a beautiful morsel of Caroline’s delicious surprise vegan treat and a life affirming cup of bespoke Wild Ivy tea curated from our surrounding nature.

10.30 With our baskets, clippers, English 'wet weather-gear’ (or hats and sunglasses) we are taken on a foraging excursion led by Caroline of our surrounding kitchen gardens, fields and hedgerows. Where we will be learning about and picking flowers, herbs and vegetables straight from nature for our lunch.

12pm Cook and create! Together, using all the we have grown in the garden and foraged from the hedgerows we will create a revitalising and warming feast! This session will mindfully lead you to centre your mind, and teach you to create healing tonics and foods for winter!

1.15pm Lunch is served. Caroline will talk us through her home-made feast of foraged, dug up, sustainable and locally sourced two course vegan and gluten free lunch. With the emphasis on zero waste and 100% cooked with love. We enjoy the delicious food with homemade drinks and teas eaten casually on rugs and benches in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.

2 pm The day will end as we began, together in our tipee circle, with a special closing ceremony lead by both Rosie and Caroline.

2:30pm Home time and Wild Ivy Market Place.
