About this event

Hobbies • Other

Billy, an enthusiastic PhD student of the University of Aberdeen will introduce us to the Forgotten Kingdom of Fungi; a short presentation on the general biology of fungi, detailed description of the members of the kingdom with a focus on mushroom-producing fungi will be followed by a fantastic walk in the woods of Dinnet, with the goal of identifying, on the field, many of the species encountered. The event is suitable for all people and all ages, from young kids that love mushrooms to university students and researchers, as well as individuals that want to delve into the mushroom world or be able to successfully identify and harvest a dozen of mushroom species (also avoid the inedible or deadly ones). At the end, any mushrooms found will be given to the participants, dried mushrooms and other products will also be available to purchase, and more surprises will be waiting!
