Event description

Description

During this one-day course you will learn the basic principles of hand-weaving using a simple, portable back-strap style loom, surrounded by the magical, award winning Nant-y-Bedd garden in the Brecon Beacon's. Participants will take part in each aspect of the weaving process, from warp design, loom threading, to the weaving itself.

Throughout the day we will explore the possibilities of a diverse range of recycled weft fibres, textures and colours, including the natural materials gathered at Nant-y-Bedd. As a participant you will be encouraged to work spontaneously & intuitively and have the opportunity to create your own peice of woven cloth inspired by your time at Nant-y-Bedd, the Garden in the Forest.

The cost of the course includes all materials, delicious, seasonal organic lunch, tea & cake.

Weather permitting we will be spending as much of the day outside as possible. Please bring suitable clothing, a waterproof sit mat and sturdy footware.

Directions: Please see map attached, more detailed directions can be found on the Nant-y-bedd website here

Places are limited to 10 people per course.
