Please join BECTU London Production Divsion for our Working in "Wild West" Film-Making campaign launch
This is a an event for Runners, Assistant Directors, New Entrants and anyone working in Micro-Budget Film, TV and Online Content making, otherwise known as "The Wild West"
Speakers include:
- Tim Potter - Pride, '71, Secret Diary of a Callgirl
- Ellie Cook - Echo Artists
- Hero Abdi - Manoto TV
- Sophie Mayer - Film Curator and author of Political Animals: The New Feminist Cinema
- Polly Avison - Wigs, Hair & Make Up @ The National Theatre
Part l - An audience led Q & A session exploring no and low pay in the Micro-budget industry and it's effect on career development and creative output. This includes anyone working in productions up to £3million.
Part ll - Group workshops led by panel members covering in depth guidance and skill sharing on how to not get dealt with unfairly, practical training, networking, climbing ladders and jumping onto new ones within the industry.
From this event BECTU will draft a policy about working in the micro-budget industry which aims to protect, empower and distribute fairness to workers.

Tea & Coffee will be available and it's with great honour to be hosting this event at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, itself an institution with a DIY Perfomance Art and Theatre legacy
