Part of our summer programme of kids activities, Wild Whisby Summer. This session focuses on activities about Sparrows and Swifts; two birds in need of our help.

Through crafts and games, we'll explore what makes these birds special, what they do, why they're in trouble and how we can help them. All children attending will have the opportunity to create some artwork they can take home.

Activities will be family friendly and designed for kids to get wild in nature during the holidays. All children attending will need to be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian.

Suitable for: Families, recommended age: 5+

What to bring: Clothing and footwear suitable for the weather. Sun cream.

Where to meet: Park in the main visitor pay & display car park and then meet us down in Whisby Education Centre (first left in the car park).

Weather: While we will have wet weather plans for extreme weather situations, we will most likely be outside, so please dress accordingly.

A Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve, Whisby Nature Park is a beautiful landscape near Lincoln, full of wildlife, walks and trails. The park was created by quarrying for sand and gravel, but nature has reclaimed the pits and bare sand, creating habitats for many species.

Events at Whisby Nature Park include guided walks, fungi forays, pond dipping, Wildlife Watch (our nature club for 6-12 year old's), Junior Wardens (an introduction to conservation for young teens) and much more.
