Will the workshops and evening events be recorded?

Accepted Answer

We will record the workshops and evening sessions for delayed viewing for those who need to access them later. The only caveat is that we will not record participant sharing within these sessions.

Will captions be enabled?

Captions are enabled at all our events.

Will a BSL interpreter be present?

Accepted Answer

We are very sorry, at present our finances cannot stretch to this but we are working on it!

Question 4

How do I access the retreat?

Accepted Answer

Your private link to the week is available directly on the event page. Any other sessions, such as 1:1 meetings, evening events or socials, will be provided directly via email before the retreat start date.

Question 5

It seems like a long week -- what if I need rest time?

Accepted Answer

The sessions will happen between 9.30 am and 12 pm / 1 - 3.30 pm / 7-8.30 pm GMT. There will be optional sessions and social times outside these blocks, but the main workshops and live events will occur during these times. Comfort breaks will be built into all sessions. Friday finish is 3.30 pm.

What stage of the writing journey is this aimed at?

The retreat is for all creatives at any stage of the writing journey who wish to take time out for self-nourishment, creative nurturing, and focused writing time!

Question 7

Who will be leading the retreat?

Accepted Answer

Award-winning author and Wild Women founder Victoria Bennett will host the retreat. With 30 years of experience leading creative circles, Victoria is a warm, welcoming guide. She'll be joined by writers, facilitators, and industry professionals from the Wild Women Writers collective. TBC.

Question 8

Will the retreat focus on fiction or non-fiction?

Accepted Answer

While the writing sessions will focus mainly on memoir and nonfiction, much of what you will cover will be helpful across genres. Industry workshops will include fiction and nonfiction. All creative practice sessions apply to all genres.

Question 9

Is this only open to women? What do you mean by that?

Accepted Answer

This is a positive space. The host does not tolerate hate speech or support divisive language in any way and welcomes all who find connection, including cis-women, trans-women, non-binary and those who are gender non-conforming.

When will I get details of the full programme?

Accepted Answer

The full programme of workshops, sessions and facilitators will be emailed to you at the beginning of February, before the retreat starts.
