Develop your photography skills as you explore the ancient woodland of West Blean on this special safari. You'll be accompanied by our knowledgeable tour guide who'll share the stories of the reserve and its wildlife, as well as photographer Diana Jarvis who will give tips and advice about how to make the most of your camera and environment to create eye-catching images. During the safari you'll build up a portfolio of landscapes, close-ups and wildlife shots to represent West Blean and Thornden Woods.

There's no need to have any particular type of camera to take part in this safari, you can even bring your phone to use if you'd like to!

This photography safari will last approximately 4 hours and most of the time will be spent walking or standing. Much of the route follows surfaced paths, but whilst works are being carried out at the site for the Wilder Blean project paths may be very muddy. Ensure you wear sturdy footwear (during periods of wet weather waterproof footwear is advisable) and clothing suitable for the weather conditions. There are no toilets or refreshments available on site.

Parking charges apply at the West Blean &Thornden Woods car park but this is included with your safari ticket if you book at least 72 hours in advance. To receive free parking you must email the correct number plate of the car you will be using to parkingcharges@kentwildlife.org.uk at least 72 hours before the event start time. Please include the date of the event you have booked and the name the booking was made in as part of your email. If you are booking within 72 hours of the event, or do not confirm your number plate by this time, you will need to pay for parking on the day.
