About this event
Meet the volunteer team who maintain and create features to attract and feed wildlife all year round. It is National Children's Gardening Week so why not take part in our family friendly activity (but suitable for all ages!) planting wildlife friendly seedlings to take home and plant in your garden or a container for those of us with limited garden space.
An opportunity to walk around our beautiful garden that is planted and maintained principally to benefit wildlife but is also welcoming and attractive to look at for people as well. From borders containing a colourful mix of shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs, grasses to raised beds with fruit and vegetables. Follow the path through our mini wildflower meadow and find our wildlife pond both providing homes to lots of wonderful insects and amphibians.
With tips and advice on how to create a wildlife friendly garden to composting or simply starting your first container garden. There will be an opportunity to ask the team questions and discuss ideas for your own garden.
We also recommend you allow time to visit the rest of our nature reserves wonderful habitats from woodlands to meadows and of course the lake.
Enjoy coffee and a cake with a view of the wetland from our badger cafe.
