Join us on Saturday 27th September for a guided walk in and around the green spaces of Dorking town centre. This walk is part of Dorking Walking Festival.

Our Wilder Communities programme aims to support communities to take action for nature in their local areas.

We'll be taking a leisurely walk, identifying wildlife that lives in the local area, helping you to connect with nature on your doorstep.

Wildlife in urban areas can often be overlooked but every but every street, park, garden, stream and green space has the potential to be a home for wildlife.

We will meet at Dorking Halls and will visit the nearby greenspace of Meadowbank Park, where we will aim to identify the species that we come across using survey equipment and may even visit some wildlife planters which are looked after by our Youth Action Committee.

Important information:

This walk is aimed at both adults and children, please book the relevant ticket type for your age group. Please do not bring dogs on this walk.

Parking is available in nearby car parks such as the Reigate Road Car Park.

Dorking Deepdene and Dorking Main Stations are an 8 minute and 12 minute walk away, respectively.

Public toilets, baby changing facilities and a disabled WC operated by a RADAR key are located next door to the Meadowbank Park cafe and in the main courtyard of St Martin’s Walk shopping centre.
