Wildlife Wander in Comber: WWT Castle Espie
Overview
This month we have a special Wander with free entry to WWT Castle Espie, 10 minutes outside Comber on the shores of Strangford Lough, thanks to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.
We'll explore the wetland wildlife haven that is WWT Castle Espie. Join our friendly group for a leisurely walk to spot birds, fungi, and plants whilst enjoying the new colours that the autumn brings. The turn of the season is such an exciting and interesting time to explore our local greenspaces, let's see what we can find. You don’t need any prior nature knowledge to come along - just bring your curiosity, and enjoy the outdoors with us!
We'll meet outside the visitor centre at the WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre at 2pm.
This event is suitable for wheelchair users. If you have any questions about accessibility, or any other queries, please email us at wanders@bto.org. As these are volunteer-led events, there are a couple of things to draw your attention to: we have a no dogs policy (except for assistance dogs) just so everyone is comfortable and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. There is more information about these points and others in this document.
These events are coordinated by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) Northern Ireland. We are a charity that seeks to understand and protect our wild bird populations and connect people with nature.
