MASTERING FIRE DAY - 5th May 2019

• Try-out a variety of modern, traditional and primitive methods of fire ignition.

• Use a range of skills including solar, chemical, friction, etc to light fire… and learn how to keep it going!

• Learn different ways of arranging or “laying” a fire, for different purposes (heating/warming, cooking, boiling, fuel efficiency etc).

• Use your fire to “temper” a piece of wood and make a brew over a campfire!

This is the ideal course for someone who wants to learn a variety of Bushcraft and Survival methods for lighting fires outdoors. You might be a total beginner or already have a foundation of skills to improve and build upon, either way you’ll reap huge rewards from attending this course! We’ll also show you how to build a fire using different ‘lays’ and maintain the fire for different purposes, such as cooking, heating or boiling water.

Not only will you learn highly effective ways of lighting fire you will also learn how to identify the best natural materials, found all around you outdoors, which will allow you to light fire with nothing but a knife and a piece of cord! You’ll leave with a huge sense of accomplishment and achievement, with a range of highly valuable and practical new skills!
