The capacity of computers and machines to perform various tasks has grown exponentially since their invention. Humans have developed the power of computer systems in terms of their diverse working domains, their increasing speed, and reducing size with respect to time.

Artificial Intelligence is used to convert the systems of computers and machines towards more intelligent systems.

Upon publication of his new book called “Will AI also kill Democracy?”, Jean-Francois Cope, former spokesperson of the French Government and former Minister of Budget, is coming to London to present his views on AI and its future implications.

According to co-author Laurent Alexandre , AI will turn our world upside-down. From being a major tool of promotion for politics, the Internet became the first delivery channel of disinformation and police control. Mr. Cope, however, argues that in the midst of the evolution of AI, the role of politics is becoming crucial as it is its duty to regulate the future of humanity.

The French Societies of Imperial College London, King’s College London, UCL and LSE have the great pleasure to welcome Jean-Francois Cope on February 5th at 6PM on King’s College London’s main campus.

During his intervention, Mr Copé will try with student to open the debate on the Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Vests ) movement in France, which sheds quite some light on the role of AI in politics.

Naturally, his book goes way beyond and touches other topics closely linked with geopolitics, but also a great amount of problematics around defence, education and the possible answers Europe could bring forward.
