William Borrer (1781-1862), was a leading British botanist, with a scientific approach. His extensive and well-stocked garden, Barrow Hill, lay south of the village of Henfield in West Sussex. He was highly regarded by his contemporary botanists, but is now largely forgotten.Malcolm Lader will present a brief biography, outlining his achievements and exploring the reasons for his neglect.
