Event description
Visit 1200 of William De Morgan's beautiful drawings and designs in the V&A archive in a taught session with the De Morgan Curator.

About this Event

The Prints and Drawings Collection at the V&A has around 1,200 designs by William De Morgan in its collection.

Whereas the finished ceramics show off his mastery of the scientific techniques required for glazing, these working drawings show a marvellous insight into working method and design practice.

Discover how he planned elaborate designs using detailed geometric nets, find tiny pin-pricked holes in designs to learn how he transferred his designs, and see his interest in creating tiny creatures and fantastic beasts.

De Morgan Curator Sarah Hardy will lead a session in at the V&A on a selection of De Morgan drawings.
