William Patrick Library Talks: Artificial Intelligence with David Brower

By East Dunbartonshire Libraries

Overview

Join us for a fascinating talk with David Brower on Artificial Intelligence and its place in the modern world.

AI is everywhere — from the phones in our pockets to the headlines in the news — but what does it really mean for us? In this talk, David Brower will unpack what AI is (and isn’t) and share real examples of how it’s being used today and answer questions on its use in the modern world.

David Brower was born in Glasgow and spent most of his youth in Bishopbriggs. After living in Austria and Germany, he returned to Scotland and retrained as a software developer, in which role he has been working for the last 25 years. Utilising artificial intelligence on a daily basis, he recognises the benefits that this technology can bring, but has been concerned by some of the wilder claims that are being made about it.

AI: Hype or Reality? Come decode the truth.
