Willow Kindling Basket with Inset Handles Workshop (intermediate level)

Spend a lovely creative day learning how to weave a willow kindling basket with inset handles to take home.( This is for those who have a little basketry experience, not ideal for total beginners. Message Jilly if you are unsure.)

Construct a round basket base first, then insert the uprights into the base to create the sides for weaving your basket. Learn how to form inset handles, then wale before laying down a border to complete your basket.

Jilly Greig is a full time willow basket maker living and working in E. Lothian. She enjoys teaching workshops throughout E.Lothian and Edinburgh.

The venue has free parking in the grounds and surrounding street. Cars are necessary as public transport is very limited. All tools and materials supplied however please bring an old sheet or large towel to keep willow damp. Bring a pack lunch and don't wear clothes you love too much!:)
