Willow Obelisk Workshop
Overview
On your visit to The Workshop in Whitley Bay, I will guide you through this fun and hands on willow obelisk workshop. Suitable for total beginners and advanced alike.
You will be using sustainable, locally sourced willow grown and harvested from a plot in the stunning Northumberland National Park. You will learn about the different varieties of willow used and the different traditional weaves you will be using. You will take home a unique handmade willow obelisk to put in your garden or place in a pot, where you can watch your favourite climbers grow through it. You will learn tradional weaving techniques and tips and tricks of the trade.
You will be working at a low level at the beginning of the project, I have kneeling mats. For those who cannot kneel, let me know and we can look at a slightly different design, basically a shorter version and working on a table.
Closed toe shoes reccomended.
Suitable for 16+ due to sharp tools.
All tools provided. All refreshments provided.
By bike, I have a yard to leave it in.
