What age is the workshop suitable for?

This workshop is suitable for ages 14 and up. Please note that under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult, as this is a hands-on craft that requires focus and manual dexterity.

Do I need any previous experience with basketry or crafts?

Not at all! This workshop is beginner-friendly and designed as an introduction to willow weaving. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the whole process, so no previous experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and get creative with your hands.

What should I bring with me?

All tools and materials are provided, as well as tea and coffee throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch and wear comfortable clothes suitable for working with your hands.

Will I finish my basket during the workshop?

Yes! The workshop is designed so that each participant will complete a basket by the end of the day. You’ll leave with a beautiful, practical piece you’ve made yourself, along with the skills to try more weaving in future.

Yes. The venue has wheelchair accessible access and disbaled toilets. The hall is all on one level and you cn choose whether to work sitting or standing at the tables or on the floor - whichever feels more comfortble for your personal needs.
