Volunteering takes many shapes and forms, from grass roots, informal volunteering to help out neighbours and the local community to the largescale, organised, trained volunteers supporting health and social care services and everything in between. However;
- Could more be done to enable volunteering to be more inclusive? To address the barriers – perceived and real?
- What prevents people from particular communities becoming involved?
- And What can be done to make it easier for everyone to volunteer their time, skills and energy?
These are some of the questions that Vision for Volunteering aims to tackle.
We are pleased to be able to invite you to join Ellie Brodie, the Policy and Research Consultant, leading on Vision for Volunteering on behalf of a collaboration of national bodies, including NAVCA, NCVO, Volunteering Matter, the association of Volunteer Managers and Sport England.
At the Wiltshire Voluntary and Community Sector Network event you will have the opportunity to;
- Find out about the Vision for Volunteering project
- Contribute your views, ideas and insights to the national call for evidence which will help shape the hopes and ambitions for volunteering for the future
- Shape and influence the priorities for Volunteering locally as Wessex Community Action develops a Volunteer Centre for Wiltshire.
- Meet, Connect and share with other voluntary and community sector organisations based in Wiltshire.
Whilst there is no charge to you attending, there is a cost to Wessex Community Action to putting on these events, therefore if you book, we request you do so with the intention of attending. Like you, WCA relies on funding to deliver this work and staff endeavour to provide high quality engagement experiences. Whilst we understand that emergencies arise from time to time, over the last 6 months we have had many organisations book and then not show up, which costs WCA financially, in staff hours and outcomes achieved. So please can we respectfully ask you to notify WCA at the earliest opportunity if you are unable to attend, so that we can make any necessary changes to our planning and limit the impact for those who are able to attend.
