About this event
Windrush Generations Trades People
The Windrush generation and their descendants made vital contributions to rebuilding Britain after WW11, as well as being entrepreneurs working as skilled crafts people in diverse industries. This project is documenting the stories, from carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tailors, decorators, seamstresses, hairdressers...and many more... The stories told by the participants will be captured and published along with photographs in a booklet.
Join this launch event and taster workshop celebratory event, and share your experiences, such as why you became a trades person, where you trained, work experiences, becoming self-employed, about joining your parent’s trade, and much more...
Bring along pictures, items of your craft that you want to share, and tools, and much more...
